Recap: Wedding Season 2013

After indulging in plenty of Thanksgiving pie and side dishes, I decided to take drastic measures and do a short term juice cleanse last week. You may have noticed my brief hiatus from the blog, due to the fact that I couldn't even think about food, much less plan out and create recipes. Omg. No eating food, thinking about food, blogging about food, or watching TV related to food (the last two are strictly due to the temptation it would have caused).
I won't sugar coat it (mmm...sugar)- the juice cleanse was hard. Like really, really hard. As a privileged person living in the U.S. it is truly the hungriest I have ever felt. I hear that you're not supposed to feel hungry doing a juice fast...that just wasn't my experience.
I had the honor of making the cake and cupcakes for Chris Mann and Laura Perloe's gorgeous Mexican themed wedding at Maravilla Gardens this past July 5th.
The cupcake flavors were two of my absolute favorites to make- margarita and churro dulce de leche. The cake was a mocha flavored cake, decorated with one tier in a petal style buttercream and the other tier in a rosette style buttercream.
